Wha’s up, my man?

This is the third email in a series called Light The Forge to help us hit the new year with fire and momentum, instead of apathy and anxiety.

Turn Up the Heat 🔥

A forge that burns at a low heat will never shape steel. The fire must be hot — like, “singe the hairs off your arm and eyebrows” hot — if the blade is going to be malleable.

One way we can turn up the heat is to start praying dangerous prayers. Safe, polite prayers rarely shape us into who God calls us to be. But when we turn up the heat, when we pray dangerous prayers, we open our lives up for God to begin reshaping the places that need changing.

James 5:16 says, “The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.” Not small. Not weak. Powerful. Effective.

Here is one of the most dangerous prayers from scripture that will open the door for God to turn up the heat.

Search me, Oh God and know my heart, try me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any wicked way in me and lead me in your way everlasting.
Psalm 139:23-24

I dare you to pray this with an open heart, to give God an invitation to come and wreck your life in the best way possible!
