Stay Sharp Weekly
The Stay Sharp Weekly newsletter equips Christian men to get sharp and stay sharp in every area of their lives.
Hey man,
Welcome to week two of the WHETSTONE 2026 Light The Forge series!
A good bladesmith never assumes his blade is sharp — he tests the edge. He looks closely for cracks, chips, and weak points. Because when you need it, a dull blade is the wrong kind of dangerous.
The same is true for us. If we don’t pause to assess our edge, we’ll carry the same dullness into the next year — and wonder why nothing changes.
Take a moment this week to look back over 2025. Be honest with yourself:
- What did you do, have, experience, or become this year that you want more of in 2026?
- What dulled your edge? What do you want less of in the year ahead?
This is where sharpening begins — not with adding more noise, but with quiet and honest reflection.
Hebrews 12:1 reminds us: “Let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.”
My man, if we are going to endure, we have to prioritize sharpening. If you don’t assess your edge, you’ll continue to increase your effort while decreasing your effectiveness.
THIS WEEK’S TOP 3
1. READ: Proverbs 26
2.THINK: Our youth pastor preached a sermon a few weeks ago and said, “If it takes me an inch from God, I want it miles from me.”
What are we allowing to remain in our lives that entangles and trips us up, causing us to become distant from God?
3.ACT: Invest 10 minutes and answer these two important questions.
- What did you do, have, experience, or become this year that you want more of in 2026? What sharpened you?
- What do you want less of in the year ahead? What dulled your edge?
Stay sharp,
Aubrey
P.S. The forge is lit — now it’s time to lean into what God has begun in you. Next week, we’ll turn up the heat with some dangerous prayers. 🔥
If you’re ready to turn up the heat and put in the work, but don’t have a plan or clear direction, you need the 90-minute sharpening session. These few minutes could actually change your life. I’ve had some life-changing conversations this week with guys just like you. Now it’s your turn!
