**I am heartbroken for the Kirk family. Charlie was a brother in Christ and a bold voice of truth in a confused and drifting culture. You may not have agreed with everything he said or with his approach, but he was a young man with the kind of spiritual backbone that all of us should strive for. I am grieved for every victim of this outbreak of violence we have seen over the past few weeks. This is evil. It is Satan grasping for ground in a war that he knows he has already lost. The time is now to be a man who is devoted to prayer. The time is now to become a man of repentance and righteousness. The time is now to speak boldly of the saving power of Jesus and his promise of an eternity where he will wipe every tear from our eyes. I say it often, but you are too important to the Kingdom of God to stay stuck on the sidelines. It’s time to wake up and get in the fight!

Man of God, you do not have to be prey to the enemy of your soul. You are not defenseless against temptation.
Let me hit you with a freeing thought.
Temptation is not sin. After all, Jesus was tempted and didn’t sin.
Look at James 1:14-15,
But each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire. Then desire, when it has conceived, gives birth to sin, and sin, when it is fully grown, brings forth death.
Basically, temptation and desire have a baby, and its name is sin… and it’s a serial killer.
But through the Holy Spirit, you have been given power over sin. If you want to stop sin in its tracks, catch it before it’s conceived.
Here are seven words that I use daily to shut down temptation.
“I reject that thought in Jesus' name.”
-
- When a lustful thought comes out of nowhere…
- When a lie begins to form in your mind…
- When the perfect clever insult hits you…
- When hiding seems like the best idea…
- When pride tries to justify…
7 words. As quickly as possible. Like a switch-blade. Kill it and watch the temptation fade.
This Week's TOP 3
- READ: Proverbs 21
- THINK: We often fixate on our sin, but we fail to catch a vision of freedom. Pause and consider what your life would look like if you could overcome the sin you struggle with most often.
- ACT: Use these seven words today. “I reject that thought in Jesus’ name.”
