Stay Sharp Weekly
The Stay Sharp Weekly newsletter equips Christian men to get sharp and stay sharp in every area of their lives.
Hey man,
Here’s a simple thought that can change everything.
The more you listen, the more you hear.
I know it sounds trite, but don’t dismiss it.
Listening is not a characteristic often attributed to men like us. We take action. We run. We speak and people are supposed to listen.
But listening?
Nah. That’s for women. They’re the listeners.
But…
I dare you to listen. Intentionally listen, not just to appease or get brownie points, but in order to hear.
Your wife needs you to hear her. The same goes for your kids, your employees, your friends, and your neighbors.
They have likely been trying to get through your thick skull for years, trying to get you to hear them.
Most importantly, you need to hear God. He wants to speak to you. He is messaging you every day, but are you listening?
Listen to these words from God in Matthew 17, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased; listen to him.”
Consider listening your new super-power.
The more you listen, the more you hear.
He is speaking, will you be the man who is found listening?
THIS WEEK’S TOP 3
- READ: Matthew 17
- THINK: Take inventory. When is the last time you paused and intentionally listened to God or someone important in your life?
- ACT: Invest 5 minutes each morning this week to be silent before the Lord. No agenda. No music. No devotionals. Just open ears. Say, “Speak, Lord, your servant is listening.”
