THE DANGEROUS MAN CHALLENGE
A 3-DAY ONLINE WORKSHOP FOR CHRISTIAN MEN WHO DESIRE TO BECOME THE RIGHT KIND OF DANGEROUS
I'll send more info and a link to register next week.
Are you in?
Hey, man of God,
September is Dangerous Man month and there is one simple question that every dangerous man must answer. How we answer it will determine whether we become the right or wrong kind of dangerous men.
What do you really want?
The second Domain of Danger is DESIRE.
The Tyranny of The Shiny
When a man doesn’t know what he wants and hasn’t clearly defined it, he is ruled by the desires of his flesh. Everything that is shiny and appealing in the moment drives his decisions. He’s predictably unpredictable. He’s prey to every marketing message that comes along. He’s like a squirrel playing ping pong. He’s unsettled. He’s unrooted. And he’s easy prey for Satan’s schemes.
But each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire. 15Then desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin, and sin when it is fully grown brings forth death.
James 1:14-15
You can easily see how dangerous this man is.
But God shows us a way out of this temptation. It begins with getting clarity on what you want and aligning that with what he wants for you.
I love this scripture in Psalm 37:4,
Delight yourself in the Lord,
and he will give you the desires of your heart.
He will not only give you what YOU want, but he will even more teach you what TO want.
Driving Desires
Man of God, if you want to become the right kind of dangerous, you need a clear set of Driving Desires.
This is a list of 3-5 things that you deeply want or want to become. Simply and clearly articulated, your Driving Desires become the filter through which every decision is made. They expose the hidden trade-offs behind every opportunity and shiny offer. They give you the confidence to say faster no’s and slower yes’s.
Do you have a clearly stated set of Driving Desires?
If not, go no further.
A man who does not know what he wants will spend his whole life chasing the next shiny thing.
A man who does know what he wants and what God wants for him is willing to trade anything, persevere, and even suffer in order to gain it.
Isn’t this what Jesus did?
“For God so loved the world…”
