Stay Sharp Weekly
The Stay Sharp Weekly newsletter equips Christian men to get sharp and stay sharp in every area of their lives.
What's up, my man?
This month I’m leaning in with you to help you get clarity on the simple practices that will move you toward the life of success, meaning, and significance that you long for.
Remember, you don’t need superpowers or magic. You need clarity and commitment.
No man is immune to these three core struggles: Drift, Deception, and Distraction.
Today we’ll tackle the one practice you can implement today that stops the drift in my life, and I know it can help you too.
Drift Disorientation
Have you ever gotten to the end of a week and felt discouraged because you can’t even remember what you accomplished? The week was a blur of busyness with work, kids’ activities, and other obligations. The week was full, but you sit with your wife on Sunday night thinking,
- “This week flew by, but what did we even do?"
- "I feel like we didn’t even see each other."
- "Our calendar was full, but now we feel empty and can’t even point to a specific reason why.”
This, my friend, is a classic sign of the disorientation that leads to drifting off course.
And when we can’t recall what we did, we feel overwhelmed. We also can’t be specific in our gratitude. We can’t look at our days and feel accomplished and give God glory for how we saw his faithfulness because it’s all a blur.
The 3 Wins Practice
This is where the simple 3 Wins Practice comes in. (I adapted this from The Gap and The Gain by Dan Sullivan and Benjamin Hardy.)
Step 1: Write down 3 wins from the day before you go to bed every night.
- Use a notebook, a calendar, or make a note on your phone. Write them in the same place each day.
- These could be small or big wins - A big sale at work, a date night with your wife, fun with the kids, a good dinner, a finished workout, a meaningful conversation, etc.
Step 2: Write down 3 wins you expect to have tomorrow. This puts you in a winning mindset. It also gets you prepared to take action on your priorities first thing in the morning instead of being drawn away by the current of the day.
Step 3: Make a gratitude list of all of your wins at the end of the week. Now instead of discouragement and blurred confusion, you have clarity and momentum!
Now you can thank and praise God in a detailed way for all that he did in your life.
This will make it a lot harder to slip into the drift and stay focused on the good wins God creates in your life.
Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name; worship the LORD in the splendor of holiness. Psalm 29:2

THIS WEEK’S TOP 3
- READ: Hebrews 4 - STRAIGHT POWERFUL TRUTH HERE! READ IT!
- THINK: When we feel disoriented in our physical body, we stop, sit down, and put our hands and feet on something solid. Why wouldn't we do the same when we feel disoriented in our heart and mind?
- ACT: Put the 3 Wins Practice to work and share your wins with a trusted friend, your wife, or send me a message. Mark down your wins, celebrate them, praise God, and DEFY THE DRIFT!

I coach driven visionary Christian men who want to sustain lifelong impact in the world for God’s Kingdom. I show them the way to build an inner framework and razor sharp purpose that supports anything they build and bring into the world on the outside.
Too many of us have become great at building amazing businesses, ministries and movements but we have neglected our inner life. We are literally imploding under the stress and weight of it all.
And the cost?
You end up standing at the top of the mountain alone… your marriage in shambles, your kids disconnected, and your relationship with God distant.
Is there a way to chase what God has put in you and not sacrifice what is most important to you?
The answer is, absolutely!
