Listen Now
Man of God,
It’s easy to chase success.
More influence.
More income.
More recognition.
More impact.
But Scripture gives us a much clearer definition of success.
You are called to:
-
Love your wife and lay your life down for her as Christ loved the Church.
-
Teach your children diligently — and that calling doesn’t end at 18.
-
Bear witness in everything you do to the Kingdom of God and King Jesus.
-
Go and make disciples.
…to name a few.
If our pursuit of more, higher, better, or bigger causes us to neglect these callings, it isn’t success.
It’s sin.
“But as it is, God arranged the members in the body, each one of them, as he chose.”
— 1 Corinthians 12:18
“For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul?”
— Matthew 16:26
When you surrendered your life to Christ, you became a citizen of His Kingdom.
And citizens live by the King’s currency.
His values.
His weights and measures.
His definition of success.
But the world measures things very differently.
It celebrates visibility, status, and results.
God honors the parts of the body that seem small, hidden, and overlooked.
One of the fastest ways to drift from God’s mission is to live in His Kingdom while still measuring life, others, and success by the world’s standards.
When we do that, we live like foreigners instead of sons and heirs.
THIS WEEK’S TOP 3
- READ: Matthew 13 (Bonus reading - 1 Corinthians 12)
- THINK:
In the economy of mercy
I am poor and begging man
In the currency of grace
Is where my song begins
In the colors of Your goodness
In the scars that mark Your skin
In the currency of grace
Is where my song begins
-"The Economy of Mercy" by Switchfoot
- ACT: The weather is warming up. Take a walk and consider this question: Where am I measuring success by the world’s standards instead of God’s? Ask the Lord to realign your heart with His measures.
